Madura Batik Designs

Madura is the name of an island which lies east of East Java province. Madura Island has an area of approximately 5250 km2 with a population of around four million people.
Batik fabric making is one of the traditional crafts that has become cultural heritage for the people of Madura, especially in Pamekasan area which already has its own characteristics on the results of batik productions.
Designs in motifs and colors contained in Madura batik are very unique. Images of flora and fauna such as birds and butterflies are found on batik from his island especially from Pamekasan area. Batik Madura much use of bright colors like yellow, orange, red, blue and light green.
